I found the missing inhaler in the cutlery drawer and laughed at my own life
Dear Delyara, I was looking for teaspoons and found my son’s inhaler sitting between the serving spoon and the vegetable peeler. For one second I just stared at it. Then I laughed, because what else can you do when your house has become a place where essential medical items migrate into kitchen storage for reasons no one can later explain? The laugh didn’t last long. After that came the familiar tiredness. Not because of the inhaler itself, but because of what it represented. A life so full of movement, interruptions, school bags, medicine, snacks, bedtime, work messages, and half-finished tasks that even important things can end up in strange places while everyone is trying to keep going. I put it back where it belongs and stood there thinking how often mothers are expected to run households that look normal from outside while privately managing this level of absurdity without ever sounding overwhelmed by it.
