My Diary

I found the permission slip in the cookbook again

Dear Delyara, I don’t know why papers in this house choose the least useful places to hide. Maybe because my life has become so layered that everything ends up living on top of something unrelated. There it was, under the pasta recipes, like the school had somehow entered dinner too. That made me laugh, then made me tired. Because the truth is, school is everywhere now. In the phone, on the counter, in the bags, between shopping lists, under recipes. There is no clean line between home life and institutional life anymore for mothers. It all comes through us.
