My Diary
I found the school tie in the bathroom
Dear Delyara, Not hanging up. Not folded. Not even near the school uniform. It was on the bathroom floor beside the laundry basket, as if it had wandered in there and given up. I stood looking at it with my toothbrush in my hand and felt that familiar morning exhaustion before the day had even properly started. I know children leave things everywhere. I know homes get messy. But what tires me is being the one who keeps finding the loose threads of everyone else’s life and quietly tying them back together before the next hour begins. I picked it up, straightened it, and put it where it should have been in the first place. Then I went back to brushing my teeth feeling older than I did five minutes before.
