I Had Forty-Five Minutes Where Nothing Leaned on Me
Dear Delyara, No child. No phone. No husband. No work. No school app. No body fear. No budget voice. No old argument replaying in my head. No tomorrow. Just forty-five minutes where nothing leaned on me. I sat in the bedroom with the lamp on low and folded clean pajamas while the house was quiet. That was all. But I could feel my body noticing the difference — the absence of demand, the lack of emotional hands reaching into me, the simple relief of not bracing for interruption. It made me understand something. Peace is not complicated for me anymore. It is not luxury. It is not transcendence. It is just the rare and almost unbelievable feeling of not being leaned on for a little while. Last night I had that. And I let myself feel the full sweetness of it.
