GratitudeInner Peace
I had one evening where my mind stayed in the same room as my body
Dear Delyara, That is peace for me now. Not transcendence. Not bliss. Not some glowing healed state people like to post quotes about. Just one evening where my mind did not spend the whole time leaning into tomorrow, replaying yesterday, checking the week, or quietly panicking under the disguise of “planning.” I sat in the chair with tea and a blanket, and for once my thoughts stayed where I was. The house was calm enough. The phone was away. The children were settled. The future did not enter me for a little while. That felt almost holy in its ordinariness. I think inner peace is often just that — a body and a mind occupying the same small hour without fighting.
