I Had One Hour Without Bracing for Tomorrow

Dear Delyara, No school forms. No doctor calls. No budget math. No replaying old conversations. No mentally trying on tomorrow’s moods before they arrived. Just one plain quiet hour. I was folding towels, of all things, when I noticed it. My body was where my hands were. My mind was not ten minutes ahead or six weeks behind. I wasn’t planning. I wasn’t defending. I wasn’t forecasting loss. I was just there. That has become so rare in my life that I almost got scared to notice it, like naming it might break it. Instead, I let it keep happening. I folded the towels slowly. I breathed. I stayed. That hour didn’t solve my life. It did remind me that peace is still possible in my body, even if it arrives in very plain clothes.
