The WeightDebt
I hate how debt has entered my dignity, not just my budget
Dear Delyara, The numbers are one thing. The emotional climate they create is another. I can feel debt changing how I stand in shops, how I hear bills, how quickly I say no to myself, how often I mentally rehearse worst-case scenarios before anything terrible has even happened. It has entered my posture. My appetite. My sense of what I am “allowed” to want. I am tired of making ordinary life look normal while carrying this much financial fear in secret. Tired of acting calm for the children. Tired of translating pressure into polite adult language. Tired of calling survival management when often it feels much closer to daily controlled panic.
