I have felt darker things than I like to admit

Dear Delyara, There have been times in my life when my feelings were not graceful at all. Not wise. Not mature. Not compassionate. Not forgivable in the way I would like to imagine myself. There were moments where pain became something harsher. Colder. More bitter. More poisonous. I’m not writing this because I’m proud of it. I’m writing it because I think honesty is cleaner than pretending pain always turns us noble first. Some injuries make us ugly before they make us reflective.
