My Diary

I heard my husband ask where something was and felt irrationally angry before he had even finished the sentence

Dear Delyara, He wasn’t being cruel. He wasn’t even doing anything especially wrong. It was just one more practical question entering a body that had already spent the day being a storage system for everybody else’s objects, schedules, moods, and forgotten details. The anger rose so fast it shocked me. Not because it was justified in proportion to the question. Because it wasn’t about the question at all. It was about accumulation. The way one more “Where is…” can land like accusation when a woman has been the location service of the household for years. I answered normally. Inside, I was not normal at all.
