I heard the love through the imperfect language this time
Dear Delyara, That still feels like growth to me. The words weren’t exactly the ones I would have chosen. The form wasn’t naturally comforting to me. And yet I could hear the care underneath more clearly than before. That changed the whole interaction. I think some forms of maturing are really forms of hearing — being able to detect care inside clumsy language without denying that the clumsiness is still there. This week, I could do that a little more. And it softened me.
