The PlotFear of Failure
I hide inside planning
Dear Delyara, This is one of the habits I respect least in myself. I hide inside planning. I research, prepare, imagine, improve, organize, delay, and tell myself I’m being wise. Sometimes that is true. But often what I am really doing is sheltering inside preparation because actual movement would make the outcome visible. And if the outcome is visible, then so is the possibility of failing publicly, looking foolish, or discovering that my desire was bigger than my courage. Planning can look admirable. But when it becomes hiding, it quietly steals whole seasons of a life. I think I’ve given too much time to that version of fear.
