I interrupted the pattern

Dear Delyara, The old pattern appeared, and I recognized it before it finished taking hold. That was the victory. I felt the pull toward over-explaining. Toward returning to what once hurt me. Toward becoming too available too quickly. Toward apologizing for my boundaries before I had even set them. And then I paused. That pause changed the whole outcome. I don’t think I celebrate interruption enough, but maybe I should. Sometimes the life-changing moment is just one pattern not completed.
