The PlotFear of Failure

I keep making the starting line more beautiful than the beginning itself

Dear Delyara, I know how to prepare elegantly. The notebook. The plan. The structure. The perfect timing. The cleaned-up concept. The improved version of the improved version. At some point, preparation stops serving the beginning and starts replacing it. I know that. And I still fall into it. Because a polished starting line is less exposing than a messy beginning. It lets me feel serious without yet having to feel vulnerable. It creates the illusion of movement without requiring the emotional risk of real motion. Fear in me is rarely loud. It is often aesthetic. That’s what makes it so easy to admire while it is quietly stealing time.
