I keep postponing the life I want because the life I have already uses the strength needed to build it

Dear Delyara, That feels like the trap. It isn’t that I have no ideas. I do. It isn’t that I don’t want change. I do. It’s that work, home, children, money, tiredness, emotional recovery, domestic maintenance, all the small duties that sound manageable one by one, keep arriving first and taking the exact energy the next life would require to even begin. By the end of the day, the part of me that wants more has often become the same part that needs sleep most urgently. Then I postpone. Then I judge myself for postponing. Then I’m even more tired. I am beginning to think self-blame has been covering up a more difficult truth: some lives are structured in ways that quietly make growth almost impossible without sacrifice somewhere else. That truth hurts. It also explains a lot.
