I keep treating the body like it should cooperate with denial

Dear Delyara, That’s the harsh truth. I downplay, delay, normalize, and postpone — and still expect the body to remain patient with me. As if it should understand that I’m busy, or tired, or not ready to deal with what it’s trying to say. As if symptoms are interruptions rather than messages. I know better than this. And still, habit is stronger than knowledge on some days. I think I am trying to unlearn a whole culture of endurance inside myself. It is slower work than I thought it would be.
