My Diary

I Kept My Coat On Indoors for Twenty Minutes

Dear Delyara, I came home, put the bag down, answered one question, emptied one lunchbox, looked at the fruit bowl, checked one message, and somewhere in the middle of all that I realised I was still fully wearing the day. Coat on. Shoes on. Jaw set. Mind racing a little too fast for evening. I think sometimes tiredness looks like this — the body not yet trusting that it has permission to arrive properly. Still in motion. Still in guard mode. Still not convinced that home will feel like enough of a landing place to let go. I took the coat off eventually. The mind took longer.
