The BondFriendship
I know the friendship has changed in my body
Dear Delyara, My body knows before my mind finishes admitting it. I feel relief when the conversation ends. I check my wording too much. I hesitate before replying. I feel more duty than warmth. I start hoping they won’t ask the deeper question because I no longer trust the room enough to answer it honestly. That’s not a small change. That is grief beginning in ordinary ways. I wish more friendships ended clearly. Sometimes they just become emotionally expensive and leave you to figure out when it happened.
