I Know What Kind of Life I Want Emotionally, and Still I Cannot Seem to Build a Real Bridge Toward It
Dear Delyara, I know the feeling I want. More room. Less fear. More dignity. More work that doesn’t hollow me out. More money stability. More emotional honesty. More time that is not already owned before I enter it. More aliveness. What I don’t seem to know is how to build from here to there while still carrying the life I already have. That’s what makes it painful. Not ignorance. Obstruction. Work takes energy. Family takes energy. Domestic life takes energy. Recovery takes energy. Fear takes energy. And by the time the day has passed through me, the version of me who still wants change often arrives tired enough to become theoretical. So the dream remains emotionally vivid and practically postponed. And after long enough, that starts to feel like a private form of grief. I do not think I am visionless. I think I am overused. And that is a harder problem than motivational language admits.
