I left one cupboard open all evening and somehow that summed me up
Dear Delyara, I didn’t notice until after dinner. There it was, slightly open above the kettle, just enough to look like someone had been interrupted halfway through doing a simple thing and never fully returned to close the loop. Which, to be honest, is exactly how I felt. Not chaotic, not broken, just unfinished in twelve small places at once. I closed the cupboard and laughed because I knew if anyone else had seen it they would have thought nothing. But I saw my whole internal state reflected in that one half-open door. Life had entered me in too many directions today, and I had moved from task to task leaving tiny versions of myself unfinished behind me. That’s what tiredness often looks like in real households. Not collapse. A cupboard left ajar.
