My Diary

I left the lamp on and sat in half-light

Dear Delyara, Tonight I didn’t want full brightness or full darkness. So I left one lamp on and sat in that middle kind of light where nothing feels too exposed. I think that’s how I wanted the evening to feel too — not cheerful, not miserable, just soft enough that I didn’t have to defend myself from it. Some days I don’t need big comfort. I need gentler edges. The room looked kinder like that. And because of that, I felt a little kinder toward myself too. It’s strange how much atmosphere can change the emotional weight of a night.
