I let comfort be reason enough

Dear Delyara, I chose comfort this week and, for once, did not put it on trial in my mind. No internal argument. No instant guilt. No “shouldn’t you be stronger than this?” No idea that comfort needs to justify itself through suffering first. Just softness. Chosen. Allowed. Used. I think I am slowly teaching myself that care does not have to arrive as a reward. Sometimes it can simply arrive as a response to being human. That feels like a better way to live.
