I look normal, but some days I feel far away from myself

Dear Delyara, I can still do the day. I can go to work, answer people, cook dinner, sort the children, even laugh at the right places. But inside, I feel slightly absent. Not broken. Not dramatic. Just not fully there. And because I still function, it’s easy for people to miss. Sometimes I miss it too until the evening, when I suddenly realise I have gone through the whole day almost like a machine wearing my face. That scares me more than obvious sadness sometimes. Sadness announces itself. This doesn’t. It just quietly steals the feeling of being alive inside your own life.
