My Diary
I looked at the fruit bowl and felt judged by three bananas
Dear Delyara, They were too ripe. That was all. And yet somehow those bananas became evidence that I was once again slightly behind the pace of my own household. I should have used them yesterday. I should have baked something or frozen them or at least noticed them earlier. Instead there they were, darkening gently in the bowl while I stood at the counter already feeling stretched. This is the kind of absurd domestic symbolism I live with now. Fruit becomes failure. Laundry becomes moral pressure. A missed email becomes proof I’m slipping. I know it’s irrational. I still live inside it. I’ll probably make banana bread tomorrow. Tonight they just looked tired, and so did I.
