I’m the One People Trust With Their Secrets, Not Their Joy
Dear Delyara, People call me when their marriage is breaking. When they’re ashamed. When they don’t know what to do. When they need language. When they need someone not to panic. I’m grateful they trust me. I really am. But some nights I realize how rarely those same people think to include me when the plan is light, the mood is easy, the purpose is joy instead of repair. I have become a keeper of difficult things. And I’m lonely in that role. I don’t only want to be someone’s safe dark room. I want to be invited into sunlight too.
