I Made the Call Before I Was Sure

Dear Delyara, Usually I wait for certainty. Or what I call certainty, which is really just enough fear piled up that I can no longer pretend to be sensible by postponing action. This time I didn’t wait for proof dramatic enough to justify concern. I felt something. I listened. I called. No over-Googling. No one more week. No calm little lie to myself about being too busy to deal with it right now. Just action while still unsure. That feels like a major shift in me. I am learning that care does not have to wait until panic wins. I wish I had learned that sooner.
