I Made the Difficult Call While Still Afraid and Finally Stopped Treating Fear
Dear Delyara, Fear was still there. The cold hands, the delaying thoughts, the reasonable-sounding excuses, the urge to postpone until I could become some future calmer version of myself who would make the call more neatly and with less shame. But I know this pattern now. That future woman rarely arrives. Silence just gets more expensive. So I called. And I stayed on the line through the discomfort. I listened to the answer. I asked the next question instead of protecting myself from embarrassment by ending too soon. I took notes. I finished the conversation. Afterwards, I realised the practical problem had been difficult, yes. The emotional monster I had built around it in advance had been much bigger. That lesson keeps returning in my life, and I keep needing it: fear is not the same as instruction. This time, I obeyed that truth.
