The SilenceLoneliness

I miss being emotionally expected by someone, not only practically relied on

Dear Delyara, Practical reliance is everywhere in my life. People need things from me. Schedules, memory, help, steadiness, listening, sorting, carrying, planning. I am used to that shape of being needed. What feels rarer now is emotional expectation. Being the person somebody wants to tell first. The one whose mood matters enough to register. The one who can arrive quiet and still be read with tenderness. The one who is built into someone else’s inner life, not only their logistics. That’s what loneliness tastes like for me now. Not lack of contact. Lack of emotional place.
