The SilenceLoneliness
I miss being someone’s first emotional thought
Dear Delyara, The one someone turns to first when something matters, before the story gets polished, before the mood gets managed, before the sentence even fully forms. I think there is a kind of steadiness in being that for another person and knowing it in your bones. I miss that more than I usually let myself say. Because this kind of loneliness is not about having no one. It’s about no longer feeling central in that deep reflexive way. Needed, yes. Cared for in general, maybe. But first in the heart? That feels much rarer now.
