My Diary

I missed being able to tell the truth in one sentence

Dear Delyara, My feelings have become too layered for short answers. That sounds poetic. It doesn’t feel poetic. It feels exhausting. So much of what I experience now comes mixed — tiredness with grief, grief with irritation, irritation with overstimulation, overstimulation with old hurt. If someone asks how I am, there is rarely a clean sentence waiting. There is weather. There is context. There is history standing behind the immediate mood. Today I missed the simplicity of being able to say one honest thing and feel represented by it. Now, too often, the truth is longer than the moment can hold.
