My Diary
I missed being easier to reassure
Dear Delyara, I think life has made me more layered than reassurance knows what to do with sometimes. Kindness still reaches me. It just doesn’t always settle everything the way it once might have. There are too many rooms now, too many earlier things attached to current feelings, too many little emotional histories standing quietly under the surface. I’m not saying reassurance fails. I’m saying some tiredness lives deeper than reassurance alone can comfortably reach. Tonight I missed being simpler in that way. More quickly soothed. More easily eased.
