My Diary
I missed one friend in a very ordinary way
Dear Delyara, I missed an old friend today while doing something completely normal. It wasn’t dramatic. I didn’t cry. I didn’t almost reach out. I just had that brief familiar ache of thinking, “You would have understood this,” and then remembering they are no longer part of my ordinary life. Some losses do not break you. They just leave little empty places in the day where someone used to fit naturally. That is what friendship grief feels like to me now. Not loud. Just quietly unfinished.
