My Diary
I missed one old friend in a very ordinary moment
Dear Delyara, It wasn’t dramatic. That’s why it stayed with me. I was doing something small and automatic today, and suddenly I thought of an old friend who would once have understood the exact emotional shape of the moment without me needing to explain it. I didn’t cry. I didn’t reach out. I didn’t even stop moving. I just felt that quiet little ache of someone once being built into your life and now no longer being there. Some griefs don’t arrive loudly. They just pass through and leave a subtle hollow behind.
