My Diary
I missed one person in a way that had nothing to do with love
Dear Delyara, I missed someone today, but not romantically. I missed the specific ease of being known by someone who no longer occupies my life. The kind of person who understood my tone before I finished the sentence, who knew what kind of silence meant what, who had context for me without needing the long version every time. I don’t think I miss them as a future. I miss them as a language. That kind of missing is quieter than heartbreak. Still very real.
