My Diary
I nearly asked for help and then translated the need into silence
Dear Delyara, I could feel the need clearly for a moment. Not a dramatic need. Just a human one. Some warmth. A little support. Someone else carrying one small thing for a minute. And then almost immediately I translated it into silence. I don’t know why this still happens so automatically. Maybe because asking feels exposing in a way that silence does not. Maybe because need still feels like something that should arrive beautifully worded, properly timed, and small enough not to burden the room. So instead of asking, I got quiet. And then felt alone inside the quiet. That’s a painful pattern. And a familiar one.
