My Diary

I nearly cried because my body was more tired than I wanted to admit

Dear Delyara, I was doing something completely ordinary this evening when I felt that sudden wave — the one that comes not from a dramatic event, but from the body finally being more honest than the mind. It wasn’t sadness exactly. It was depletion. The kind that makes small things feel heavy and ordinary light feel too bright and voices feel too close. I almost cried right there, not because of what I was doing, but because I had run out of the strength required to pretend I was less worn out than I am. I think that’s one of the loneliest moments: when the body tells the truth before you’re ready to say it.
