My Diary
I nearly cried because my bra hurt and I still wore it all day
Dear Delyara, Not because the bra itself was tragic. Because I noticed, around lunchtime, how quickly I still accept low-grade physical discomfort if it’s mine. Wrong fit, digging strap, annoying underwire, slight headache, poor posture — I can keep going through all of that while remaining oddly “sensible” about not addressing it properly. Then by evening I’m irritated at life in general when actually part of the problem is that my own body has been quietly inconvenienced all day by something I could have changed. I came home, took it off, and felt instant relief. That relief made me angrier than the discomfort had. Because it showed me how unnecessary the suffering was.
