My Diary
I nearly cried because nothing was wrong
Dear Delyara, That is what unsettled me. Nothing bad had happened. The day was ordinary. No crisis, no argument, no obvious wound. And still, by evening, I could feel tears close enough to surprise me. I think some emotions don’t come from the day itself. They come from accumulation finally finding a quiet enough place to surface. That’s what tonight felt like. Not a reaction to one thing. A delayed arrival of many things I kept stepping around because there wasn’t time. It’s hard to trust sadness when it doesn’t come with a headline. But maybe that sadness is often the truest kind.
