My Diary
I nearly cried because someone was kind
Dear Delyara, I think kindness reaches me harder than it should. Someone was gentle with me today in a completely normal way, and I felt tears rise almost immediately. Not because anything dramatic happened. Because I’m more starved for softness than I like admitting. That’s the embarrassing truth. When care has felt conditional for too long, even ordinary gentleness starts feeling almost unbearable in its tenderness. I smiled, said thank you, carried on. But inside something in me had already cracked open.
