My Diary
I nearly cried because the takeaway menu had gone missing
Dear Delyara, Not because I desperately needed takeaway. Because by that point in the day I had already emotionally committed to not cooking. The plan had been simple. Easy evening. One small mercy. Then when I couldn’t find the menu and the app wasn’t working properly and everyone started offering “helpful” suggestions from different rooms, I could feel tears arriving over something that was obviously not about menus at all. It was about mental bandwidth. The complete absence of it. We did eventually order food. It arrived late. It wasn’t even very good. Still, I remember that moment in the kitchen vividly — me standing by the fruit bowl with my phone in one hand and feeling as if a missing leaflet might actually be the final straw.
