My Diary
I nearly cried because the wrapping paper ran out
Dear Delyara, The present was half covered. The tape had already stuck to itself twice. It was late. The child needed it for the next morning. And then the paper ended exactly before the final corner. That was enough. Not because paper matters. Because I was already too full. Too many little tasks, too many little responsibilities, too many things that all looked small on their own and somehow emptied me by evening. The paper running out felt like one more mean joke from a day that had already taken too much in exact change. I found another roll eventually and finished wrapping it badly. No one will care. I still carried the emotional aftershock of that stupid moment much longer than I should have.
