My Diary

I Nearly Cried in the Printer Room

Dear Delyara, I nearly cried at work in the printer room today, which feels ridiculous even writing down. Not because of the printer. Because it was the only place with a door. The whole day felt too full. Too many requests, too many little pressures, too many moments of pretending I was coping better than I actually was. Then something very small happened — an email, a tone, a deadline moving again — and suddenly I felt tears rise in that humiliating, unstoppable way. I locked the door, took three deep breaths, looked at stacks of paper, and waited for my face to become normal again. Then I walked out and carried on. Sometimes I think adulthood is just learning how to fall apart in the smallest room available.
