My Diary
I nearly filled the silence before it had a chance to be kind
Dear Delyara, The room got quiet tonight and my first instinct was to put something in it. Music. A video. A voice. Any noise at all. I think I’ve spent so long associating silence with emotional backlog that I forget it sometimes arrives empty-handed. Not every quiet room contains something terrible waiting to surface. Some are simply quiet. Tonight I gave the silence a little longer before interrupting it. And it turned out gentler than I expected. That felt like useful information. Maybe not all quiet is a trap.
