My Diary

I nearly replied to someone I shouldn’t

Dear Delyara, Someone from my past messaged me today and for a few minutes I felt that old pull. Not because I think it would be good for me. Not because I’ve forgotten how it hurt. Just because loneliness can make familiar pain look almost kind for a moment. I didn’t reply. But I’d be lying if I said the not-replying felt easy or strong in some clean way. It felt messy, like choosing absence over temporary comfort. Still, I know it was the right choice. Some growth looks quiet and unattractive while it’s happening. I think this was one of those moments.
