My Diary
I nearly went to bed angry when I was actually overstimulated
Dear Delyara, For about an hour I thought I was angry at everything — the noise, the messages, the room, the unfinished tasks, people’s tone, even my own face in the mirror. Then I turned off the overhead light, put my phone in another room, and sat still for ten minutes. And the “anger” changed shape. It turned out not to be anger in the deep sense. It was too muchness. The emotional skin had gotten too thin. That’s different. I wish I knew that sooner on days like this. But I’m glad I know it now, at least before sleep.
