My Diary
I Needed Someone to Tell Me I Did Enough Today
Dear Delyara, Not praise. Permission. Permission to stop. To leave the dishes. To let the laundry sit. To answer that text tomorrow. To not be the last person awake making sure the house is reset for everyone else’s comfort. I kept wanting someone to say it: “You did enough. Go sit down.” Nobody did. Of course they didn’t. Most people only know what’s visible. But I know what I carried today. And I’m writing it here because I needed to hear it somewhere: I did enough.
