My Diary
I Needed the Day to Be Over by Noon
Dear Delyara, By midday, I was done. Not with life. Not in a dramatic way. Just done with being perceivable, answerable, accessible, and emotionally available. But the day had hours left. So I kept going. I sometimes think one of the strangest parts of adulthood is how often you continue past the point where your interior has already clocked out. There is no ceremony for that. No medal. Just more tasks, more faces, more small endurance. I am tired in such an ordinary way lately. That might be why it’s hard to explain.
