I No Longer Need Everyone to Understand My Pain

Dear Delyara, I used to feel desperate for people to understand exactly what had hurt me. I wanted witness, agreement, recognition, and some kind of clean validation that would make the wound feel real enough to heal properly. But lately I’ve realized something quieter and stronger: my pain does not become legitimate only when other people understand it correctly. That has been healing in a way I didn’t expect. I still value being seen. But I don’t need universal understanding to trust what happened to me anymore.
