I no longer need to sound wise in order to be getting better
Dear Delyara, For years I think I confused healing with eloquence. I thought if I could explain something beautifully enough, then maybe I had already moved beyond it. Now I see that healing often happens much less elegantly. It can be repetitive, awkward, contradictory, slow, even boring. It can include good days that don’t teach much and bad days that teach nothing yet. And still, it is healing. I find that deeply relieving now. I don’t need my recovery to sound impressive in order for it to be real.
