I no longer trust every anxious story
Dear Delyara, I still have anxious thoughts. Plenty of them. But I don’t trust every one now. That is the difference. They still arrive sounding convincing. They still know exactly where to hit. They still borrow old fears and current uncertainty and make believable little disasters out of them. But now, sometimes, I can hear the tone and recognize it for what it is: anxiety, not truth. That ability has given me back more peace than I ever expected.
