I no longer trust every difficult mood as truth
Dear Delyara, That may be one of the deepest changes in me. I still have difficult moods. Still low ones, anxious ones, flat ones, overstimulated ones, days when everything feels too close and my own thoughts feel louder than they should. But I no longer trust them all as truth in the same automatic way. A hard mood is no longer proof of a hard life. A bad hour is no longer prophecy. That distinction has saved me more than almost anything else I’ve learned. Tonight I want to honor that.
